Mike Frick
Coach
Frick graduated from Pope John High School, where he was a three-time New
Jersey State Champion. He then attended and wrestled for Lehigh
University where he was a two-time National Champion; 1975 NCAA Outstanding
Wrestler; three-time All American; three-time EIWA Champion; and two-time EIWA
Outstanding Wrestler. Mike's Career Record at Lehigh was 86-9-4.
He is a wrestling representative in the Penske Lehigh Hall of Fame.
Coach Frick is entering his sixth year as the Head Coach of the Nazareth
Jr. High Program. In previous years he served as both an Assistant Varsity
Coach and Junior Varsity Coach. His undefeated 1998-99, 1999-00 and
2000-2001 teams were ranked as the #1 Junior High team in Pennsylvania. These
three teams plus the 2000-2001 team compiled a record of 80-1.
Other Coaching experience includes two years as an assistant at the US
Naval Academy, two years as head coach at Belvidere High School in New Jersey
and one year as head coach at William Allen High School. Mike was named
the Express Times #37 of The Top 100 Sports People of the Century.
Jody Werner
Coach Werner is a 1979 graduate of Nazareth High School, and formerly held
the position of Head Junior High Coach for ten years before stepping down.
Jody returned 4 years ago to the Nazareth wrestling program as Mike Frick's
assistant, a key player in the Junior High program. An outstanding wrestler at
Nazareth, Jody won District XI and Northeast Regional Titles.
